Edwardian Ash-Framed Child's Folding Pushchair
This lovely antique perambulator dates from the first part of the twentieth century. It has what we believe to be an ash frame, although please note that we are not 100% sure of the wood type. It has a padded rexine back and a rexine seat. It has a wooden foot rest and iron wheels and brackets. It is designed to fold down. It was originally used as a child's pram, but would now make a nice display item for dolls or teddy bears.
Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. It is overall a little grubby / dusty. Three of the wheels are missing their inner rubber tread, making the perambulator overall a little wobbly. The folding mechanism works, but is stiff and has scuffed the woodwork in places. There is an old screw repair to one side of the handle, and wooden batons have been added to either side of the back rest at the back at some point. There is some surface rusting to the metalwork, and the fabric is pulled around the rusted screws. There is an area of wood loss to the foot rest.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 93cm high, 52cm wide, 76.5cm deep (open, to maximums). Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
