Wonderful and large Late Victorian ship automaton under glass dome.
Separate quality clockwork movement driving the French ship over the waves with a 2 air musical movement with is driven by a traditional string pull.
The motion drive works faultlessly, however the musical movement does require some attention.. all teeth to the comb are present and most if not all pins to the barrel too, but some teeth are missing/nibbled to a drive wheel, this is a relatively easy job for someone in the horological industry to rectify.
The glass dome has suffered to the left hand side (see picture) all glass glued in back in place however one piece is missing (1 inch wide tapering along 2 inches in length)
Wear and tear commensurate with age and use.
However a very desirable piece of 19th century mechanical music.
