Description

We have for sale a very striking and decorative honey oak late Victorian or early Edwardian purdonium. Purdoniums were designed as coal scuttles disguised as an atractive cabinet, and serve equally well as a disguised swing bin.

This truly stunning purdonium consists of a very well built heavy oak body furnished with heavy cast iron fittings all on four simple square tapered legs. Pulling the handle results in the front panel readily swinging forward to reveal the swing out interior, which contains the original galvanized removable liner complete with its original loop handles. The purdonium dates to somewhere around 1900.V

This decorative and very useful antique purdonium is 24.5 inches (62.2cm) high, 17 inches (43.2cm) wide and 14 inches (35.6cm) deep and is in an excellent antique condition.
