Vintage Silver Mounted Address Book, London, 1992
Here we have an attractive Vintage Sterling Silver Mounted and Leather Bound Address Book. The silver plaque on the front cover has a design of large flowers, buds and foliage surrounding a blank central cartouche. The address book pages are completely unused, making this perfect to move on to a new home.
The address book was made for John Bull Ltd and assayed in London in 1992. Established in 1953, John Bull was a gift and antique shop in London’s prestigious New Bond Street. They commissioned pieces of silverware to their own designs which they sold alongside antique and vintage pieces. Their mark is most commonly seen on photo frames but is also found on candlesticks, napkin rings, desk accessories and christening sets.
Condition is very good, with just the minimal superficial surface wear that you would expect with the passage of time. The personal details, notes and address pages are all unused. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The address book measures 14.2cm / 5.6ins by 11.1cm / 4.4ins and is 1.3cm / 0.5ins deep. It weighs in at 200g / 7oz.
The hallmarks, at the bottom of the front plaque, are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the leopard's head assay mark for London, the date letter S for 1992 and the J B Ld sponsors' mark for John Bull Ltd.
Shipping in the UK is £10 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the address book.
Overseas customers, please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
