Vintage Art Deco German Cocktail Shaker c.1930
A very smart, simply shaped Art Deco cocktail shaker just back from our silversmith's workshop having been professionally cleaned and polished, restoring it to it's former glory.
The underside is where the maker's mark for Carl Deffner can be found.
The Deffner firm was established in Esslingen in 1815 by Carl Christian Ulrich Deffner and existed through several generations of the family until 1969. Around the period before WWI the company was a very large concern employing around 500 people. Carl Deffner (1856-1948) took over the firm from his father Wilhelm in 1900 with his brother Otto (1866-1949). Esslingen am Neckar is a city in the Stuttgart Region of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany.
Art Deco in style and era dating to c.1930. Excellent condition measuring 8 1/4" tall with a diameter measuring 3 1/2".
