Victorian Slat-Back Country Kitchen Armchair
This antique armchair dates from c.1880. It is constructed from what we believe to be solid oak and elm. Please note that it is in need of some restoration. The chair is a nice country piece with a slatted back, shaped arms, a shaped seat and turned splayed legs with lower rounded H-stretcher.
Condition: Overall this is a handsome piece, but is in need of some restoration work. The joints are loose and the chair is overall wobbly. There is some quite heavy scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall faded with some marks. There is an old repair to one side of the seat. There are some signs of old woodworm damage - this is not active but has been retreated as a precaution.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 110cm high, 60cm wide, 49cm deep (to maximums) 44cm high to seat. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
