Victorian English Silver Mug, London c1882 %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A small, Antique, Victorian English Silver Mug, made in London and dating from c1882.
This lovely small mug was probably a christening mug originally. It is free of engravings or any form of personal inscriptions.
The mug hallmarked with the maker's mark "WE" for William Evans, the Monarch's Head duty mark (Queen Victoria), the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter G for 1882/83.
It is in very good condition. It does have a couple of minor flat spots to the base edge rim, however nothing untoward and excellent condition for age.
It measures 3" inches (77mm) in height. It is of slightly tapered form, measuring 60mm diameter at the base and 55mm diameter at the top. The capacity is approximately 7oz (190ml).
