We have for sale a very rare and lovely example of a William Billingsley decorated Pinxton cup and saucer dating to around 1798.

The cup cup and saucer is simply and rather beautifully decorated with garden flowers by Billingsley and is illustrated in “The patterns & shapes of the Pinxton china factory” by N. D. Gent.

The cup is approximately 2 inches (5.5cm) high and the saucer is just over 5 inches (13cm) wide and is in a very good condition other than the expected glaze faults and a small firing crack to the base of the handle and a small area of wear to the decoration of a rose on the saucer.

This Pinxton cup and saucer is currently being exhibited as part of the selling exhibition of rare Derby, Pinxton, Nantgarw and Swansea porcelain "A journey with William Billingsley" 2016, ISBN: 9783741809903
