Very Fine Georgian Giltwood Oval Mirror c. 1760 mirror gilt giltwood %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A beautiful mid-Georgian carved pine giltwood mirror with leafy foliate border and the gesso carved with leaf veins and small fruits

The whole of asymmetric design with a delicate cresting of entwined branches and with a well defined scalloped border to the inner frame.

The mirror plate is early but not original and has an attractive soft golden hue to the hand made glass and only minor speckles from age.

Small losses and light wear here and there to the original gilt and a few natural and superficial cracks to the frame consistent with its great age and entirely normal for such an authentic period mirror.

A very original early George III mirror of a large size for this period and beautifully carved in an irregular design of unusually elegant and refined form.

Dimensions are:

20 inches wide by 30 inches high.

For metric please multiply by 2.5
I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.

I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
