Unusual Chinese pot with lid, dating from the Yongzheng period. Rarely seen decoration - the shape and border gilding were for the export market but the clusters of cherry blossom in red enamel are clearly in Chinese taste. Famille verte palette - overglaze red and green enamel decoration. The lack of rose coloured enamels and the typical foot help towards dating the pot.
Condition: the pot is in good condition. The lid has an almost invisible hairline crack and some frits to the knob - seen in photograph. Border gilding rubbed in places.
Size: height 10 cm, diameter 12 cm.
