Unusual 19th.C.2 Part Campaign Chest
An unusual Anglo Indian solid teak 19th Naval Officer's brass-bound and Macassar ebony inlaid campaign chest of drawers. Interestingly the brass sunken handles and top protective corners outlined with ebony. This 2 part chest has solid teak drawer linings with lateral bars which allow the chest to be securely lashed when stowed onboard ship.The whole having brass reinforced brass corner straps, dovetailed joints and working locks with keys and standing on the original turned feet. Condition - Very good, re-polished in our own workshops using traditional methods and materials. Dimensions:- Height…42’’/ 107cm. Width…45’’/ 114cm. Depth…17’’/ 43cm.
