Circa 1820. An exhibition quality George IV rosewood breakfast table in the manner of ‘James Mein of Kelso.’ The circular top with well figured mirror matched rosewood with a well carved dragooned fore-edge, simple frieze with further beading beneath. The back of the table top is scumbled to resemble rosewood, the snap top table sits on a deep block, resting on a tapering four- sided concave pedestal with beaded sections to the base. All resting on a large concave platform base, sitting on four well carved large animal feet. The table has excellent colour and patination. The snap top action is in working order.
