Stunning Sevres Dresser Box by Paul Jean Milet
This stunning blue French porcelain box was designed by Paul Jean Milet, son of Felix Optatus Milet. Optat Milet began his career as a modeler for Sèvres in 1862 and opened his own ceramics factory in 1866. His son Paul Jean Milet took over operations shortly before the turn of the century and ran the company until 1931.
This lovely piece has bronze ormolu mounts and hinge that is in good working order. The box dates from about 1900-1910 and is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Marked MP for Paul Millet and Sevres, within a dotted circle, this mark was in use circa 1911.Dimensions are 9.5 cm deep x 15.3 cm long x 7.5 cm high.
