Staffordshire Pearlware Figure The Sailor's Return
A good pearlware figure group of the Sailor's Return painted in overglaze enamels, c.1820.
It measures 22.3cm (8 3/4") high, 13.3cm (5 1/4") wide and 10.5cm (4 1/8") deep.
Condition is good but there has been some professional restoration to the girl's neck, the sailor's left arm, his right lapel and bottom of his coat jacket. There has also been some overpainting to his black tie and in some places to the blue suit, only really detectable under a UV light. There would also have been a small bocage which has been lost and tidied up to appear as a tree stump. There are also some chips to the red base to the back right corner and some fritting and small chips running along the back edge of the base. Some light handling wear in places. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
