Silver Hunter Pocket Watch, J Forrest London
A LARGE, HEAVY, SILVER HUNTER CASED POCKET WATCH, JOHN FORREST, LONDON -
A gentleman's Silver Hunter Cased Pocket Watch by John Forrest London.
The sterling silver hunter case is English made. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "JF", alongside the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Chester town mark and date letter "N" for 1913/14. The case has very nice decorative engraving all over, the front cover with a central cartouche surrounded by a gold belt. The case is in excellent condition.
The white enamel dial is in good condition, but has a few hairlines as can be seen, it has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. It is signed by the maker "John Forrest, London" and also "Chronometer Maker to the Admiralty".
The English Lever Fusee movement is in working order, key wind and key set with the key provided. It is complete with dust cover and signed by the maker.
The watch measures 58mm in diameter (across the case, excluding the winding crown). The weight is 177.1g
