Pair of Quimper French Faience pottery dishes
Quimper pottery is named after the French town where it was originally produced, back in c1690.
It is a hand painted tin glazed earthenware pottery.

This pair of small dishes is of a man and a woman dressed in Breton costume of that early 17th-18th century period. However the style of the hand painted back markings date these pieces to mid 20th century - c1943-70.

Each dish measures approximately 8 cm (3.2") in diameter and is 1.2 cm (.5") deep.

The dishes are in very good condition, with no chips or cracks noted. There is some light crazing to the glaze.

Please see photos as these form an important part of the description.
