Pair of F. Walker, Rockley Windsor Side Chairs
A good pair of elm and ash Windsor side chairs with centre splats and crinoline stretchers. The chairs are solid, with a good rich colour, and patina. There is some minor woodworm damage to the back of one chair and the underside of one seat on another, this does not detract from the beauty of the chairs and has been treated for peace of mind. The chairs were made in the hamlet of Rockley by Frederick Walker who later took over the workshop of the well known maker, William Wheatland. Both chairs bear the stamp 'F.Walker,Rockley'.
