Lenkirch Burr Walnut Bracket Clock
We are delighted to offer for sale this very fine bracket by the highly regarded clockmaking company of Lenzkirch who produced some excellent antique clocks in the 19th/early 20th Century.
This type of bracket antique clock is one of my personal favourates and represent outstanding value for money when compared to a similar English clock
This particular clock is veneered in the finest burr walnut and decorated with ormlou mounts . It would have been their top model as this item has canted brass decorated corners to the rear which replicate the front whereas a slightly cheaper model was sold which only had them on the front . The images accurately show the clock which is totally genuine and original , even down to its keys.
The 6inch by 9 inch rectangular brass chapter ring and spandrel dial is signed by the retailer , Curtis and Horspool of Leicester , and has a subsidiary dial above 12 o'clock to provide fine time regulation . The blued steel hands are original.
The high quality 8 day duration movement strikes each quarter on 2 coiled gongs (known as ting tang) and is in perfect working order.
It bears the Lenzkirch trademark stamp and is numbered One Million 118880 which dates it to the latter end of the 19th Century
The item is in truly outstanding condition with a beautiful shine and a wonderful colour . It will delight the most discerning buyer and I doubt that another could be found in better condition.
This clock is 15 inches tall (handle up). The width is 11 1/2 inches and the depth 10.
