Large Plaster Bust Of Apollo Belvedere
A stunning and substantial plaster bust of Apollo Belvedere, stamped 'RU-81' verso. The bust is 20th century and the '81' verso is presumed to refer to the year 1981.
The bust is of large proportions and unusual form with the bust terminating at the very top of the shoulders and the plaster being carefully modelled so that the bust stands alone without a plinth. The absence of a plinth gives this bust a more natural, neoclassical presence and as such it displays exceptionally well.
The bust has some marks commensurate with age, most notably some darkening to the top and light marking to the left side of the face around the eye. Overall the piece remains in a very good condition and is a wonderfully decorative piece.
