Large Antique English Figural Stationery Rack
A magnificent large Victorian cast brass stationery rack or holder in an Art Nouveau design, the front and back panels featuring a Cherub or Putti figure with long flowing hair, presumably representing a Sea Goddess. The figure is flanked by two fish, a variety of flowing foliate scrolls and fruits and floral vignettes.
Each of the figures is cast on the reverse side (hard to photograph) with an English design registration number 84452 for the year 1887, always a highly sought-after identifier.
A large piece probably for a couple of folded Newspapers making the perfect caddy for modern day stationery or letters. Excellent polished condition with a footprint measuring 10 1/4" x 5" and standing 8 1/2" tall to top of handle the front and back panels measuring 9" wide.
