Japanese early Arita rectangular bulb planter - circa 1670. Decoration includes a shishi dog in the central logo and lizard dragons front and back, a jagged flash dividing line on the sides and a brocade pattern on top similar to Japanese textiles - all typical of Japanese decoration. Underglaze blue with overglaze green, yellow, red, gold and small amount of black.
Condition: 1 hairline to the side, a small chip to one corner, some rubbing to enamels in places.
Size: length 15.5 cm, width 11 cm, height 8 cm
