A rare and seldom seen single pedestal desk by Umberto Mascagni whose pieces were sold in Harrods London in the 1950s. Unusual to get a desk in such fine original order with the off white mottled coloured grained faux leather split and crack free and the black trim in situ. This one comes with the black glass top which you could take off if you so desire.

Of sensible proportions and bearing the trademark Umberto Mascagni styling and design, this one has three drawers to one side and sits on those little black coloured legs with its nice thick top.

Workshop report – The desk sits in remarkably good order bearing in mind the age and materials used. All the drawers are running well and possess the fancy original brass handles and patterned linings. We also have a pair of keys (stamped, made in Italy) and a working lock which is always a bonus. We have a little age darkening to the top of the back but not off putting and the grained faux leather is split and crack free, just a few tiny nicks in places. Smells fine.

A great piece of 1950s Italian antique furniture in very fine order and so decorative.

When purchasing from us we include delivery within mainland UK, excluding Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isles, in the purchase price and liaise with you to ensure delivery is as swift and as smooth as possible. Items are delivered by private courier, usually this is a one man service. If you require a two person delivery, please let us know. Smaller items are wrapped and packed (into recycled boxes where possible) and sent via a national courier service, tracking details will be provided once an item has been collected from us.

Terms and conditions

Please note that items must be wrapped and insured, with the return cost being covered by you. Once the item is back with us, having had a once over in the workshop, your refund will be issued.

On the rare occasion that an item is damaged in transit, please notify us immediately or within 48 hours and provide us with details and images so we can best remedy the situation.
