H & R Daniel Second Gadroon Coffee Cup 4058
A pretty Henry and Richard Daniel coffee cup and saucer in the "second gadroon" shape very finely decorated in pattern 4058 with broad underglaze mazarine blue shaped borders reserving white centres and scalloped edged regions coloured in lemon yellow enamel. Delicate cross-hatched gilt decoration and ornate scrolls, floral sprigs, fleur de lys type images and dots embellish the coloured ground and outside the cup. Feathered gilt rims and handle edge, finishing with an acanthus leaf on the thumb rest. Well painted garden flowers in bright enamels decorate the centre of each piece. Both pieces marked with pattern number 4058 in gilt, c.1825.
