Good-sized 9ct gold Smiths De Luxe wrist watch
A good-sized 9ct gold Smiths De Luxe wrist watch.
The watch has a Smiths 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch is a very good size at 35mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Edinburgh 1954, with a case maker's mark for the British Watch Case Company, a London based company who supplied many watch makers with gold cases, including Rolex.
The case is in good condition and the case back has a long service inscription from The Austin Motor Company in their Golden Jubilee Year (so presented in 1955).
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish, a shade or two of discolouration but overall the condition is good.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a Smiths De Luxe presentation box.
