A fine quality and impressive Georgian English twin fusee bracket/table antique clock. An ebonised case with brass mounts and brass inset panel edgings. Brass ogee bracket feet and surmounted by a carrying handle and four acorn finials. Glass side panels with rococo gilt internal panels. An arched brass and silvered dial with rise and fall pendulum regulation to the arch. Cast corner spandrels and a circular engraved bob to the recessed name plate. A date aperture and fine blued steel hands. A quality twin fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell with engraved signature to the backplate. A rack of eight bells on pull repeating cord (mechanism now disconnected as many were). The pull repeat works on the hour bell. Circa 1775.

The Goddard family of Clockmakers worked in the 17th and 18th centuries and this example by James dates to circa 1775.
