This is a smart George V Sterling Silver Circular Photo Frame with a 3.33in diameter visible picture size. The frame has a wooden back with an easel strut whilst the silver frame has concentric line decoration.

The photo frame was made in Birmingham by Pinder Brothers and dates to 1917, towards the end of the First World War. John T. Pinder and Charles E. Pinder established Pinder Brothers as electroplaters in Sheffield in 1877 and registered their first silver makers’ mark in 1888. They made a wide range of silverware in both Sheffield and Birmingham including church silver, tableware, flatware, desk items, photo frames and drinking vessels. The firm remains in the ownership of the Pinder family to this day.

The frame has definitely seen some use and there are a number of small dings in the silver, however it still looks very good with a photo mounted in it. The easel strut is in good working order and it stands securely. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

As per above the visual picture size is 8.5cm / 3.33ins. The overall size is 11.7cm / 4.6ins diameter and it is 8cm / 3.1ins deep with the strut fully open. It weighs 98.3g / 3.47oz.

The hallmarks, at the bottom of the frame at the front, are nice and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter s for 1917 and the P Brs makers' mark for Pinder Brothers.
