Gents silver Waltham Riverside wrist watch
Gents silver Waltham Riverside wrist watch.
The watch has a high grade hand-winding movement, Riverside grade, which is working nicely. The movement has screw-set jewels, a patent regulator and a Breguet hairspring. It is fully signed and it has the serial number 12549571 which dates it back to 1903.
The watch measures 32mm wide excluding the winding crown and 32mm high excluding the lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1946 with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison, manufacturer and supplier of most of the cases for Waltham UK.
The movement and case are not original to each other but they sit very well together.
The front and sides of the case are in good condition, the back has a couple of small “dings”.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers with red numerals.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a vintage presentation box, probably not the original but it came to us with the watch.
