French Kingwood Gilt Mounted Bureau Plat Desk
A magnificent kingwood and giltmetal mounted bureau plat.
The serpentine shaped top fitted with a three section gilt tooled black leather writing surface, crossbanded within heavy cast gilt feathered and scrolling edge. Fitted three frieze drawers with dummy drawers to the reverse. All drawers fitted with gilt horn and ornamentation. The corners are headed by sculptural gilt female espagnolettes and the bureau is raised on tapering cabriole legs with acanthus wrapped paw feet.
