First Period Worcester Porcelain Tea Cup & Saucer
Very pretty Worcester tea cup and saucer with a very fine decoration of large floral sprays. Under-glaze sky blue to create the main flowers and then masses of finely detailed gilding to create the fronds and pick out the veins of the leaves. Edged with a dentil border. Open crescent mark to both, c.1785.
The cup measures 5cm (2") high, 10.5cm (4 1/8") rim to handle and 8.3 (3 3/4") rim to rim. The saucer measures 13cm (5 1/8") wide and 2.7cm (1 1/16") high. Condition is excellent with no damage or restoration and surface wear is minimal. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
