Edwardian English Silver Miniature Chair Batson
Stunning and unusual Edwardian English silver miniature novelty chair ornament. Formed as an X-framed chair with circular back with embossed back panel sandwiched between a round ring at the front and plain back. The panel depicts a scene of Angelica and Medoro against a landscape with young nymphs playing at their feet, framed with arabesques and topped with a scallop shell. The front rim of the seat and arm tops are also decorated with chased scrolls and there are ram's heads on the front feet. Hallmarked for London 1902, makers Batson & Son (Henry John and Albert).
Quite large for a miniature it measures 3 3/8" high, 3 1/8" wide and 1 3/8" deep. It weighs 107g/3.5ozt. Condition is very good one of the tiny pins holding the back on is missing and the legs are not fully inline with the back. Very light surface wear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
