Early 18th century oak coffer on a carved plinth base. Having a single piece, overhanging hinged lid with moulded edges, which opens to reveal storage space and a small boxed compartment on the inside right.
It has its original iron lock and large key. Decoratively carved front of nice, four petal design with overlapping circles. The bottom plinth has carved panels of rosettes, birds and flowers.

A useful addition to any living space. Fabulous colour and patination!
