The pattern known as 'Chevaux' or 'Chaldean'- Designed by John Armstrong and produced by Clarice Cliff for the 1934 Harrods and Art in Industry Exhibitions. Other notable contributors included Paul Nash, Graham Sutherland, Laura Knight, Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant and Gordon Forsyth. Fully stamped and marked.
A rim chip has been professionally filled but left unpainted (see photo 2). Aside from that, the plate has no chips, cracks, transfer loss, scratches or crazing.
