Chamberlain Worcester Spiral Fluted Coffee Can
An attractive Chamberlain Worcester porcelain coffee can of tapered shape with double ribbed spiral fluted moulding and shaped handle, c.1800. Painted in the inside with a blue border over gilded with barley ears. The outside is decorated with gilt sprigs. Pattern number 273 painted in puce to the base.
It measures 6.5cm (2 1/2") high and 6.5cm (2 1/2") across the rim.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Below the blue and gilt frieze inside was a further thicker gilt band as the lower edge which has been rubbed and is very faint now. Handling wear otherwise is very light, just a little bit to the rim. A couple of underglaze nicks to the foot rim from manufacture. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
