Mid 19th.c. walnut sewing table or work box c.1870. 19″ diameter octagonal top with well figured burr walnut veneers and a moulded edge. Opens to reveal the original fitted interior with small birch lined compartments for threads etc, around a central well for a piece of embroidery. Shaped apron and tapering octagonal body, also both in burr walnut. Raised on a turned column and tripod base with shaped legs with crisply carved detail and scrolling feet. A few old marks to the top, otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
