A wonderful and highly collectible novelty travel inkwell in the form of a top hat bucket. Covered in leather, it is embossed to create the strap that would wrap around the real hat box. The top also has the little handle.

To the front is the concealed button which when pressed opens the lid to reveal the travel inkwell within. The top of the ink chamber is opened with a little lever to the right hand side, once opened the little glass inkwell is revealed.

Victorian in era, dating to around 1890. Excellent condition, measuring 2" x 1 1/2" x 1 5/8" tall.
