A wonderful and highly decorative spherical footed string or twine dispenser made from Victorian sterling silver.

The bottom half has a fluted design and the top half has an Art Nouveau influenced design with a stylised floral and foliate repousse or embossed decoration, typical of the late nineteenth century.

There is a full English hallmark for London 1892 together with the makers mark for Carrington & Co. of Regent Street, London. The underside is also marked " Carrington & Co. 130 Regent St. London".

Superb condition with minor wear, the diameter measuring 3" and standing 3" tall.
