Antique ash & elm Windsor chair
Mid 19th Century English Windsor chair made from turned and carved ash with an elm seat having excellent colour and patina and in fine condition
Originally given a dark finish this has worn away in areas which have received the greatest wear exposing the natural colour of the ash.
It has a pierced and shaped central splat. The elm seat has an attractive grain. The chair comes with a hand-made needlepoint cushion, shaped to fit the seat, which appears to date from the first half of the 20th Century, probably the 1930's.
