A Triple Pad Top Brass bound Mahogany Bracket Clock
A Stunning triple pad top brass bound mahogany bracket antique clock with 8" porcelain dial by James Muckarsie c1790.
The case having three brass bound pads to the top and highly ornate gilt spandrels to the front and sides. The case has been carefully cleaned to reveal its original finish and looks very well proportioned in its deep mahogany veneer.
The Highly engraved backplate to the double fusee movement still retains its pendulum keep and has been fully overhauled by me personally. the clock comes with a full three years guarantee for your peace of mind.
The backplate also featuring the name Muckarsie and Holborn. James Muckarsie is listed as becoming a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers in 1784, unfortunately he died not long after in 1801.
The 8" concave porcelain dial has no cracks or losses to the numerals, however there is a very small chip to the left hand (strike) winding hole. This does not detract from the overall presentation and apart from this the dial is perfect.
