1930s Fairground Shooting Gallery Backdrop fairground fair funfair
Depicting an idyllic early 19th century scene, a man shooting ducks with his gun dog, as rolling fields sprawl across the expansive backdrop this 1930s shooting gallery backdrop is a piece of fairground history not often seen. As the hunter shoots, the ducks fly wildly into the air and his gun dog waits expectantly to retrieve a bird for its master. Spread across three scalloped hand-painted sections the now flaking paint is part of its story as generations have aimed their air rifles at the tin cans that would once have stood in the foreground, their shots ricochetting off the background. An imposing fairground piece measuring 10' 6 across the back and 8 feet deep. A superb decorative backdrop.
