This is a stunning early Victorian sampler that has been finely stitched. Dating from 1844 it was worked by a 14 year old Esther which can be clearly seen in the centre surrounded by roses underneath a beautifully worked white hart. Featuring peacocks, flowers, scenes from nature and mindful bible verses the colours are in good, vibrant condition for its age. In its original rosewood effect frame this is a super piece for the serious collector or decorator.DateEarly Victorian :
