Description

A magnificent antique George III mahogany and inlaid bow fronted corner hanging cupboard. Having a moulded cornice above a frieze inlaid with chequered stringing, centred with a shell and then flanked in each corner of the freeze with shell paterae in satinwood/boxwood and harewood, above two doors veneered in stunning cuts of flame mahogany that are hung with ‘H’ brass hinges. It comes with working lock and key and has attractive scrolling escutcheons. The doors open to reveal storage inside with a pale green painted finish. A wonderful deep colour with beautiful age and patina. Dating from circa 1790, there are marks, etc and some shrinkage cracks on some of the door edges as seen in the pictures.
CONDITION DETAILS.
Marks, dents, scratches and shrinkage cracks on doors as can be seen. There is a slight bow to the bottom of the opening door but small.
