Description

A lovely late 19th century Liberty's Mashrabiya stool with original ebonized finish and original fabric. The designer of this stool is unknown but it was retailed by Liberty's in London and is also in the book 'Liberty's Furniture 1875-1915, The birth of Modern Interior Design' It is in the sketch by Raffles Davidson for the Art Journal of the Pownall Bedroom in Pownall Hall, Cheshire on page 99.

The fabric is worn but is full of character, the frame is nice and solid, there are dents, scratches and marks and a few old repairs (notably to one small part of a mashrabiya panel) but nothing untoward.
