Description

Late 19th.c. faux bamboo dressing table chest of drawers c.1890. In pine with applied beechwood decoration turned to imitate bamboo, reflecting the fashion for Japanese art and design popular in the period. 15½" x 20" mirror, angle adjustable over the original white marble top with low splashback. Over a chest of four long drawers. Extensive faux bamboo decoration to the mirror frame and chest. Original turned finials and drawer knobs. Some obvious scratches to the original marble, otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
