We thought it was very reasonable, now sold before test is finished............................................................................ One of the best, if not the best looking long cased clock of this type at this price we have seen. A superb long door case with flame mahogany on the door and on the base topped with turned finials and a lovely shaped cast bezel. Still supporting its splay feet and all in superb condition. The 8 day movement has been restored by country clocks and is currently on test in the case. It has a superb steady beat already. The face is just exquisite with some stunning engraving in the silvered dial and the numerals are all in brass. There is no name on this clock but be would suggest it is Scottish. The arangement of the movement to the case is unusual and would suggest some alteration but we cannot find any changes to feet position or anything similar that would give this away. It would appear to be early 1800s but has a gong rather than a bell which gives a nice deep stike on the hour. This is a handsome very neat sized clock and is all fully operational. It will suit most locations.
