An exquisite high quality Chinoiserie eight day mantel clock
having a gilded and fluted pagoda top surmounted by a gilded urn,the shaped case being decorated to both front and two sides with typical chinese style ornamentation of figures foliage and buildings etc.The lower section of the case is carved with gilded trellis work over a red background.The clock stands on four shaped feet.The matt silvered face is contained within a 10 centimetre brass bezel with convex glass.The brass drum movement is a French one with key and reset knob accessed from the rear which is enclosed by a circular brass cover.
