08144 Edwardian Oak Roll Top Desk Circa 1900 This beautiful Edwardian oak roll top desk has a rectangular top above an ‘S’ shaped roll top. The roll top opens to reveal a fitted interior of several pigeon holes, letter racks, two drawers and two pen holders. The piece stands on twin pedestals The pedestals have pull out slide above drawers and original shaped oak handles. The sides and back are panelled and the piece has its original locking mechanism that will not release the drawers until the roll top is opened. The piece splits into sections for ease of removal. Offered for sale is this good quality golden oak roll top desk measuring 48" wide by 30.7" deep by 45.5" high. The desk splits into a number of parts for ease of movement. The oak roll top desk has an S shaped tambour enclosing a fitted interior with two drawers above one central drawer and two pedestals with three graduated drawers in each. When the tambour is down the drawers are automatically locked, raising the tambour unlocks all seven drawers. The desk has had a replacement rolltop desk lock and brass and ceramic castors, its design makes it ideal for housing and securing a computer. The desk is in excellent showroom condition having been cleaned and sympathetically repolished. We specialise in antique dining suites trading from both Talbot House Antiques and a West London Antique Centre with our workshop in Berkshire. What a smashing little item this single pedestal roll top desk in oak. It is in excellent condition and the 'S' type roll is all operational. As mentioned it has a single pedestal with drawers and a slide so will take only the minimal amount of space but it is just so useful, pull down the roll and everything is tidy. The interior, as can be seen has the useful slots for letters etc, two drawers and the pencil slides.
