Vintage Mohair Teddy Bear on All Fours, German?
This lovely vintage teddy bear is of a nice small size. He has no maker apparant, but his is possibly of German origin. He stands on all fours and is not jointed. He has mohair fur, glass eyes, brown claw stitching and a brown-stitched nose and mouth. He is hard stuffed and has what we believe to be a squeaker inside his tummy that is no longer operative. He retains what we believe to be his original leather collar around his neck. We believe him to date from the 1940s/50s.
Condition: Overall in good condition, with some playwear consistent with age and use. He is overall a little dusty and faded, but his mohair fur has only some slight thinning. He has some grubby marks and staining - to his bottom and to his feet pads. One ear is partially detached. His leather collar has some wear and the metal fixings have some surface rusting. As is mentioned above the squeaker inside his tummy is no longer operative.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
14cm high, 20cm long. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
