This powder compact is suitable for modern loose face powders.
A rare & gorgeous French glitter compact made in Paris c.1950. Such a beauty! This very eye-catching enamel & glitter compact is unused in the most gorgeous condition. The whole case is gilt & lacquered & so it will never need to be cleaned. The lid is highly unusual with a glittery background that looks like foil. Set atop this enamel gilded baubles in low relief. A pretty engine turned border surrounds this. The interior too is gorgeous - gilt with a bevelled mirror. This would have been an expensive item to produce. The mirror is super & gives a perfect reflection. The powder well is inscribed 'PARIS MADE IN FRANCE'. All clasps & hinges work perfectly.The original sifter is in place & you can see it well made & luxurious having a white velvet edge. The base is satinized & has a glittery finish too.
This very appealing French powder compact measures just over 3" X 2 3/4" & weighs 134.9 grams
