Vintage 1940s/50s Chad Valley Mohair Teddy Bear
This lovely vintage teddy bear was made by Chad Valley and retains his maker's label sewn into one foot. He has mohair fur, what remains of rexine pads, glass eyes, and a black stitched nose and mouth. He is mostly hard stuffed, and has a growler inside his chest which is no longer operative. He is wearing a red ribbon around his neck that is not original. We believe him to date from the 1940s/50s.
Condition: Overall in good condition, with some playwear consistent with age. He is overall dusty and faded, and his mohair fur is thinning with some small bald patches. He has some holing to his pads and most of the rexine covering has worn away. There is some scratching to his eyes. He shows some signs of restoration and repair. His joints are a little loose.
