Victorian Inlaid Marquetry Hexagonal Side Table
This attractive side table is of small proportions. It is in the Moorish style and dates from c.1880. The table has geometric marquetry decoration to the top and sides with mother-of-pearl inlay to the top over what we believe to be a pine carcass. It has a hexagonal six-sided shape and is supported on shaped legs.
Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some damage and wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a faded. There is some wood shrinkage cracking, and some lifting and loss to the marquetry in places. There is some wood loss around the bottoms of some of the feet, and one leg has a more significant area of loss. The piece has some signs of old woodworm damage - this is not active, but has been retreated as a precaution.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 40.5cm high, 24cm diameter of top (to maximums). Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
